Also my self and my daughter attended the Sidewalk Event at Ainsdale on Friday 22nd Feb. (Very enjoyable and thanks to all that made it a very interesting evening for both of us) However when we went into the nearby building to listen to the talk being given, a lady (who never identified her self but I assumed she was involved with organizing the evening) asked me for some details, where we were from, how did we hear about the event, etc., She also asked if we had 'booked' and seemed a bit upset that we hadn't. I did try to explain to her that I didn't know we had to and in fact your previous posting, similar to this one, stated that it was open to all members of the public and gave no mentioned of any requirement to book. I also told her that I did phone Dave Owen earlier that day and he did not mentioned that we should book.

Later when I mentioned this to some of the astronomers outside they too seemed surprised that we had to book.

Please can you confirm if there is any requirement to book attendance and if so, how do we go about it.

Further to my previous post , Sefton rangers can be contacted on 0151-934-2967. On their website they ask people to book, but this is not totally necessary.
