Hopefully I'll be there.

Was there tonight at 11pm to see what was about in the sky. No point going earlier as the sky was still blue lol.

I saw my 1st coloured star today, orange one, made my night javascript:void(0);

Hi there,

My name is Austin and I am new to the site. Please could anyone give me some information about where you meet for observing sessions. I live in town so it's a nightmare with light pollution, plus I would like to meet other people who share the same amount of enthusiasm for astronomy as I do. I've tried to persuade my wife to come out with me, and I will not tell you what she said that she would rather do!! Any information would be greatly appreciated!! Clear and dark skies.

Hi Austin, We meet every Wednesday at our Leighton Observatory at Pex Hill, Cronton (You can get directions here http://www.liverpoolas.org/content/view/18/37/). The society also has permission to use Delamere forest and occasionaly we will go further afield into North Wales if we are guaranteed good enough weather. This time of the year is not the best for observing as it does not get dark enough but you are welcome to come along to the observatory one Wednesday for a chat
cheers

Hi Brendan,
Thanks for the info about pex hill, I managed to speak to Geoff Regan today which was also very helpful. I will hopefully be able to show my face in about 3 weeks time as I work offshore, but I am very much looking forward to meeting everyone when I can.
Cheers, Austin.
