Hello LAS!
I’m a complete novice when it comes to Astronomy but I've always had a fascination with all things “Space”.
I have finally bought myself a Sky-Watcher 150p (Short Version) with a number of different eyepieces.
After setting it up, collimating it and taking it in the garden, I pointed it at a very bright point in the south which I thought was Jupiter.
This may sound stupid but to my surprise, when I looked through the eyepiece and focused it, wow, there it was, Jupiter in all its glory with 4 visible moons! I nearly wet my pants!
Talk about a big hello and a fine welcome to Astronomy.
Anyways, I was wondering if there’s anywhere in Liverpool where I can go to for a guide through the basics and possibly where I can learn what I need to know?
I know there’s a Star Party on the Wirral in October that I’m going to try to get to. Also, there’s an event at Court Hey Park in October which is ideal for me because my house literally backs onto the park

Ideally I would love to get into Astrophotography but I really don’t know what I need in order to do it, except for a camera! Haha.
Any guidance would be greatly appreciated.
Cheers
