Hi From Wirral

Hi all, just by way of introduction. I've been facinated by the universe ever since I can remember, probably since watching the moon landings all those years ago. I've had a few telescopes over the years but only cheap crxxxy "toys". Now I've decided to buy something that may acually be of use. I'll probably go for the Starwatcher 130P on a goto mount as it seems to get good reviews and is just about the top of my budget, unless you lot can recomend anthing better. The best price I've found so far is £240, but if anyone knows of one cheaper let me know. I will try and get to Pex Hill soon to have a chin wag and get some help/advice. I live near Pensby on the Wirral but I originate from Huyton and know Pex Hill well. My other hobby is Greenlaning in North Wales, I hope to combine both hobbies and take my telescope up the Wayfarer one night, no light for miles and miles.
Cheers ... FF ...

Ah another Floyd fan.
Before you spend out on your scope try and pop over to us and have a chat with the group. The Wednesdays are very informal and relaxed. You never know what someone may be selling and could get your self a bargain. Shine on mate.

Hey I am a floyd fan myself,my brother goes greenlaning and took me over the wayfarer this year, your right an ideal place to take a scope,a bit hairy though I should imagine. I have a celestron 130 and am not well placed to get the most out of it.Pex Hill is a great place to go and get help,I have always had a warm welcome, hope to see you there soon.

I'll try and get over before I buy one, I'm in no great rush and think I will probably leave it till after chrimbo and see if the prices drop. Unless there is a ebay bargain in the mean time.
Paul, tell your brother that the Wayfarer has a temp TRO on it. It has been closed pending repairs to damage cause by water errosion (heavy rain).
Cheers ... FF ...

Well I've just ordered the SW-130 with auto goto, I'll let you know when I get it. Got it for £235 delivered in the end.
Cheers ... FF ...
