Hi, not actually a resident of Liverpool, I actually live in Manchester, but from hearing about your occasional trips to Llyn Brenig I thought I'd register as I have a family friend who owns several hundred hectares of land above the reservoir and am fairly familiar with that area. Anyway onto the main subject of this post.

I have been interested in manned space flight for a long time, especially the shuttle launches. As sad as I am that we will probably not have a re-usable vehicle like the shuttle again I believe we are in for a treat with the new Ares/Orion program.

Orion took another step forward recently with the successful test of the escape system, drawing on experience from the earliest days of Mercury the "Max Launch Abort System" as it is known proved that NASA have a working escape system for Orion.
