Title: Hello
Post by: David on 12-May-2009 21:42:33 BST
Have to say what a great site.

I have a cheap pair of bino's and want my 2 young boys to take an interest in the night sky.(aged 6 and 4)

Poss looking at telescope as would be easier to use for family and poss portable as relatives in Scotland and I can see mmore with my eyes there than using my bino's in Liverpool 13.

Would like to visit Pex Hill. :D

As Brendan says, pop up and visit us. Summer bright skies are coming in but we still meet at the obs for a chat every Wednesday.
You are more the welcome to bring your binos with you.

I too am a newbie and would like some advice about buying a telescope.  I already use binoculars 8x40 which I prefer :D to use.  I have a spotterscope, but have discovered  I cant hold it steady enough and have to rely on the small stand, which then requires a balancing act of some precision, of which I seem incapable!! of tables, boxs etc.  It's good to look at the moon though.

I will be away until beginning of July.  Do you still meet up at Pex Hill during summer?  Would love to come and look at the scopes you have.

Helen  :D
